This is a great sale for baby, toddler and children’s items including clothing, toys for all ages, and accessories! Summer Fashion Show & Champagne Luncheon Fundraiser

You are cordially invited to attend the Summer Fashion Show & Champagne Luncheon Fundraiser on Saturday, July 19, 2008, 1:00 P.M. at UUMAN Church, 11420 Crabapple Road, Roswell, GA 30075.

Proceeds to benefit the Cherokee County Humane Society.

Tickets are $30.00, please make checks payable to CCHS.

A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.

There will be door prizes, raffles for gift baskets and gift certificates donated by local merchants, a silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle. We also plan to have vendors with unique gift items for sale.

Doggie U

The Cherokee County Animal Shelter is looking for volunteers to help with an innovative program to train shelter dogs so that they will be better candidates for adoption.

Volunteers will act as instructors for Doggie U Volunteers and will need to commit at least two Saturdays per month that they can work at the shelter for an hour or two to train dogs. No experience in dog training is required.

Meals Fur Pets

This non profit charity feeds the pets of the poor, elderly, shut ins and others in need. They help these individuals keep their pets in a loving home. For more information, www.mealsfurpets.com. We are volunteers for the Cherokee County Humane Society and for the Cobb County Animal Shelter.

To volunteer for Dog Spa at the Cobb County Animal Shelter, please E-mail jric4415@yahoo.com. We meet on Mondays and Tuesdays from about 10:00 to 12:30 to bathe dogs and to take pictures for their PetFinder site http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/GA137.html.

Some of the animals listed are currently in foster care. Please use the contact information given for each foster animal if you are interested in meeting them.

Adoptions

For this site, the following guidelines are used for size and age classifications.

Size:
Small = less than 35 lbs.; Medium = 36 to 50 lbs.; Large = 51 to 80 lbs.; Extra Large = over 80 lbs.

Age:
Baby = 6 weeks to 6 months; Young = 6 months to 2 years; Adult = 2 to 8 years; Senior = over 8 years

Our Wish List

Volunteers

Other Needed Items
Canned food - dog, cat, puppy, kitten; cat and dog toys; bleach; cat litter; paper towels; towels; blankets; newspapers; laundry detergent; liquid dish soap; and paper towels.

Please Spay and Neuter

Please be a responsible pet owner and spay and neuter your animals. There are not enough homes for them all. Listed below are just a few of the low-cost spay and neuter programs.

SNAP (Spay-Neuter Assistance Program)
This Cherokee County Humane Society program is designed to provide no-cost altering of companion animals for the county’s residents who cannot afford to pay for this important procedure. To learn more about the program, click here.

This mobile surgical unit specializes in low-cost and accessible feline spay/neuter. For more information, click here.

S.A.N.T.A. (Spay and Neuter Team of Atlanta)
S.A.N.T.A. is a nonprofit organization providing low-cost spay and neuter services for both cats and dogs. To find out more about them, click here.
